Are Your Scars Visible?
Poodle Old English Sheepdog mix, Loch Haven Dog Park, dogdevotionals.com, Christian Devotionals, Hoover AL, Romans 12:2
Curiosity was my first reaction.  Why would that beautiful red Doberman puppy yelp like it was receiving the beating of its life while running away from Annie, who was merely trying to engage in her favorite game at the dog park: chase or be chased?  As I reached down to pet her head, the answer stared up at me.  Pain gripped my heart as I saw the deep scars atop Paris’ head.
Reading my facial expression, her owner explained Paris had been badly mauled and was saved by a Doberman rescue.  The wounds were deep and badly infected, even having a recurrence of the infection after the stitches and antibiotics.
The married couple that owned Paris guarded her protectively from Annie’s playful lunges. They spoke to her in reassuring tones and repeatedly coaxed her out from underneath the bench. I didn’t want Annie to cause Paris any additional stress, so we departed.
Most often, we don’t even realize the scars we carry; but our outward behavior reveals their manifestation.  Our healing is free for the asking.
Invite the Holy Spirit to live inside you daily.  It will change you from the inside out.
Isaiah 11:2
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.
